Gowntown, which provides donated prom dresses to any girl who may need one, seeks volunteers to help Saturday, April 4th, at the Rushmore Mall.  Volunteers will help hang dresses, find dresses and assist the girls with trying them on.

2015 YFS KIDS FAIR

Youth & Family Services seeks volunteers for Kids Fair 2015, which runs Friday through Sunday, April 24-26, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.  Volunteers will assist with inflatable attractions, selling and taking tickets, the mini-train ride, or help in the face-painting booth.  Volunteers are especially needed for the Noon-4 p.m. shift on April 26th.

CHAPEL IN THE HILLS

Chapel in the Hills needs volunteer greeters during the tourism season.  Greater duties will include greeting visitors at the Chapel in the Hills and operating the Chapel Gift Shop.  Volunteers are also needed to help with yard work, building repairs and painting and staining.

SAFE FAMILIES

Bethany Christian Services seeks volunteers to serve as both Host Families and Family Coaches.  Host Families are volunteers who are willing to open their homes to kiddos whose parents are facing temporary crisis.  Family Coaches support the host family by helping to ensure their needs are met.  For example, if a host family was in need of more baby clothes, the Family Coach would extend into their network and help find people who can help meet that need.  Coaches and Host Families must go through an application and training process.

RAPID CITY CLEAN-UP WEEK

The Recycling Education Center and Gardens seeks groups, organizations, businesses and families to choose a designated location to clean up during Rapid City Clean-up week, April 20125.  The Rapid City Solid Waste operations will supply the bags for this event, and volunteers will be asked to pick up trash and litter that has accumulated during the winter.  Only areas not owned by individuals will be designated for clean-up.

OPERATION TALENT SEARCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This event is in need of the following volunteers:

  • Sound System Manager:  This person would have to report for sound check as well
  • Video Recorder:  A camera would be provided for this person to record the show

2-1-1 HELPLINE CENTER IS LOOKING FOR THE VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

The 2-1-1 Helpline Center wants you to nominate your wonderful volunteers for “Volunteer of the Month”; a new program of the Helpline Center.

Nominations are due NLT 1 April 15 with the 1st winner honored in June.

Winners will receive a framed certificate, a gift from the Volunteer of the Month Sponsor, Black Hills Urgent Care, and a letter of appreciation from Rapid City Mayor Sam Kooiker.  We will also honor this person at the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards luncheon on May 24, 2016, in Rapid City.

MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD

The 28 FSS/Airman & Family Services flight will be celebrating the Month of the Military Child on 18 Apr 15.  Events will include demonstrations from agencies across the base (EOD, SF/K-9, Fire Dept., EM etc…), sensory activities, jumping castles, rock climbing wall and games for all ages.  In conjunction with this event there will be a Kids Deployment Line for children in grades K-6th.

Volunteers are being sought in order to make this event a success!  You are needed from 1200-1600 to help set-up and man activities.  If you or someone you know would like to be a part of this exciting event for Ellsworth’s kids, or you would like more information, please contact:

VOLUNTEER WITH CONSUMER CREDIT COUNSELING SERVICE

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Black Hills needs volunteers to provide clerical work in the Rapid City office.

Duties would include making copies, greeting clients, answering the phone and assembling paperwork packets.
