MONTE CARLO NIGHT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

 

WHAT:  Monte Carlo Night Casino Style Gaming featuring Bingo, Black Jack, Craps, Roulette and Texas Hold-‘Em
WHERE: The Dakota Club
WHEN: 20 March 15 from 6-10 PM  (
WHY:   OCSC Fundraiser in support of the Ellsworth AFB Community

The OCSC is looking for volunteers to help them deal as well as work the event. Dinner will be provided to all volunteers.  Dealers will be supplied with uniforms and all the paraphernalia involved with the game they are volunteering with. The OCSC is looking for at least two dealers per table with three tables of each game.

YFS Kids Fair is Seeking Volunteers – April 24-26

Youth & Family Services (YFS) is requesting volunteers for the 20th Annual YFS Kids Fair.

Please note that you must be 13 years of age or older to volunteer. The dates and shift times for Kids Fair 2015 are as follows:

  • Friday, April 24, 8 a.m. to noon and 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 25, 8 a.m. to noon and 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 26, 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to assist with inflatable attractions, selling and taking tickets, the mini-train ride, or help in the face-painting booth. Volunteers are needed to work a four-hour shift (two-hour shifts can be provided upon request) on any or each day of Kids Fair.

Volunteers Needed for Family Event – 14 February

HG_2015.02_400The Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) is looking for eight volunteers to assist with the Hanger Games event on Saturday, February 14th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The volunteers will assist family members as they build care packages or monitor games and activities for kids.

LITERACY TUTOR

The Literacy Council of the Black Hills seeks literacy volunteers for adults, or in special cases teenagers, who have difficulties reading, writing, speaking, and/or listening at a basic literacy level (0 to approximately 8th grade level).  Tutors work with students on a one-on-one basis and meet in public places of their choice and at times that are convenient for them. Literacy Tutor Training will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Black Hills Workshop.

MUSTANG ROUND-UP

Big Brothers Big Sisters needs volunteers for its Mustang Round-Up, a group mentoring program  held from 1:05 p.m. to 3 p.m. on early release Wednesdays, at General Beadle Elementary School in Rapid City. The program provides a safe, structured, supervised and fun atmosphere for the students at General Beadle Elementary in kindergarten through 5th grade. The program offers a variety of organized gym games, arts and crafts, homework help and healthy snacks. Volunteers ages 16 and older are welcome.

USHERS

The Rapid City Performing Arts Center seeks volunteer ushers for the Black Hills Community Theater play “9 to 5” on Friday Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 14. Volunteers are needed to usher, sell concessions and clean up after the show. These volunteers will get to watch the performance.  Volunteers ages 15 and older are welcome

DIAPER DRIVE

Volunteers of America is asking for volunteers to help with its Mommy’s Closet Diaper Drive from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Family Thrift grocery story in Baken Park in Rapid City. Mommy’s Closet, a program of Volunteers of America, is a crisis resource provider that assists with emergency diapers and wipes for families in crisis. Volunteers can sign up to collect diapers in one-hour increments.
