Helpline Center Volunteer Connections needs your help!

helpline-centerIn honor of 211 Day on Feb. 11, Helpline Center needs volunteers and volunteer groups to distribute door hangers in their neighborhoods. The door hangers have information about Helpline Center 211 services. Volunteers are not expected to speak to homeowners; only hang information on doors. Volunteers are welcome to distribute the hangers the weeks of Feb. 5 and Feb. 12. Times for distribution are flexible.

Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo seeks horse event volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist with horse events during the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo, which runs 27 Jan to 4 Feb 17.
Volunteers will be matched with appropriate events to help do such things as line up contestants, supervise gates, etc.

Women & Children’s Home seeks volunteer receptionist

cornerstoneThe Cornerstone Women & Children’s Home is looking for a morning receptionist Monday through Friday, for the hours of 8:00 a.m. to noon. This position would be filled by multiple ladies who are willing to work a two or four hour shift. This would consist of answering the phone, answering the door, and receiving donations. The volunteer would be welcome to bring a book, knitting, etc. to help pass time on slower days.

bakeworksBlack Hills Works, Bakeworks! is looking for a morning volunteer Monday – Friday or Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am-8:00 am or 6:00 am-9:00 am (to be determined based on volunteer). Duties are for the first hour to support the front of house, getting the bakery ready to go for the day, moving trays (No washing dishes or custodial!), and the 2nd hour-3rd hour (depending) will help support the Assistant Baker for other duties as assigned. We are looking to fulfill this position ASAP in January!

Chuck-a-Puck volunteers needed for fundraiser – 11 Feb 17

helpline-centerEnjoy a Rush Hockey game and help the Helpline Center Volunteer Connections, Black Hills raise money to continue its work connecting our Black Hills communities with the agencies that serve them.

Helpline Center seeks volunteers to assist with Chuck-a-Puck during the Feb. 11, Rush Hockey Game.  Volunteers will sell pucks and go onto the ice to pick up pucks during the Chuck-a-Puck event.

VA Black Hills Health Care Center seeks volunteers for the Clothing Room

VA Black Hills Health Care Center is looking for volunteers to help in their Clothing Room, where they provide clothing to veterans in need.

Duties include:
* Sorting through donated items, ensuring items are clean and in good condition and discarding items when needed.
* Labeling clothing for size, folding and hanging items.
* Assisting veterans with finding appropriate sizes and items.
* Working with Voluntary Services on maintaining the “wish list” for needed items.

Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon every other Thursday.

VA Black Hills Health Care Center seeks a Lab Assistant volunteer

VA Black Hills Health Care Center is seeking a Lab Assistant volunteer at the Fort Meade Lab.

Duties include:
* Answer telephones
* Take messages and refer callers to appropriate personnel
* Restock phlebotomy areas.
* Put away and rotate stock
* Pick up specimens from emergency department and other departments and deliver to lab for testing.

Volunteers are needed one to two days per week from 7 am – 11 pm or 8 am – 12 pm.
