Volunteers Of America, Northern Rockies seeks volunteers are to serve soup, supervise the activities and games in the children’s area, take tickets, help in the kitchen, decorate and tear down.

Children’s area volunteers are needed from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and ticket takers from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tear down is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and soup servers are needed from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kitchen help is needed 5 p.m. to 7:30.

The Salvation Army seeks volunteers for the Turkey Round-up – 18 Nov 17

The Salvation Army is requesting volunteers to assist with its annual Turkey Roundup on 18 Nov 17. Volunteers will gather the turkeys for its Thanksgiving food boxes at Sam’s Club, Save a Lot, and the Walmart on LaCrosse Avenue. Volunteers will greet shoppers, distribute volunteer flyers, accept the donated turkeys, and thank shoppers at their store.

Volunteers must have strong interpersonal skills, must dress appropriately (civilian attire), must be at least 15 years of age, and be able to stand for several hours.

Shifts are available from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 12:15 to 4 p.m. (4-5 volunteers per shift.)

Can you help the Rapid City Arts Council with “The Goods” – 10 Nov 17

Rapid City Arts Council seeks volunteers to assist at The Goods, a festive and fanciful affair in support of the RCAC’s art programs, featuring an anonymous art exhibit and lottery drawing, art raffle, silent auction, food, wine, and entertainment. The Goods will be from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10. Fourteen volunteers are needed for this event in various positions, including greeters, bartenders, wine and food station attendants and raffle/ticket attendants.

Working Against Violence Inc seeks Volunteers

WAVI seeks volunteers to supervise the children in the play area which might include playing board games, reading to the children or any other kinds of activities Sundays 1:30-3 pm, Mondays & Wednesdays 4-5:30 pm, Thursdays 6-7:30 pm

The age ranges vary as well as the number of children attending.

Storybook Island Safe N’ Sweet Trick N’ Treat seeks volunteers – 28 Oct 17

Storybook Island seeks volunteers for the 3rd Annual Safe N’ Sweet Trick N’ Treat.  They are looking for volunteers to hand out candy, drive the train and admissions. They ask that all volunteers come in costume and that the costume is children appropriate.

Crossing guards needed for Scare in the Square – 28 Oct 17

Main Street Square event planners are looking for 6 volunteers to assist as crossing guards for “Scare in the Square” and the Downtown Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, from 12:30 – 3:00PM on 28 October 2017. Volunteers should be at least 16 years of age or older.

Volunteers will be provided a safety vest, stop sign and bottled water. There may be some news stations filming but volunteers will not be required to speak on camera.

Volunteers needed for Annual Parade of Lights – 25 Nov 17

The Festival of Lights Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, in downtown Rapid City. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the event to secure the parade route and ensure the safety of those that attend.

Volunteers would need to attend a safety briefing at 2 p.m. From this briefing they will receive their assignment and go to secure the route. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and we are usually done by 8 p.m.

Volunteers of America seeks volunteers for Ryan White Program.

Volunteers of America seeks volunteers to help unload and organize a shipment of food for the Ryan White program. Through the Ryan White program, Volunteers of America provides financial and clinical assistance to HIV-positive adults who are living at or below 300% of the poverty level. Services include financial assistance for medication, medical care expenses, and other household financial obligations as approved, community service referrals, help in accessing affordable housing, mental health counseling, and other life necessities.

Volunteers will need to be able to lift heavy boxes and be able to comfortably bend and squat.

Helpline Center will hold its 3rd annual Volunteer EXPO from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Dahl Arts Center. We are looking for a volunteer willing to take candid photographs during the event. Volunteer should have some knowledge and skill with photography and use of a camera.
