Literacy Tutor- Literacy Council of the Black Hills

Literacy Council of the Black Hills is looking for volunteers to help tutor in literacy. Volunteers are trained as tutors for adults, or in special cases teenagers, who are having difficulties reading, writing, speaking, and/or listening at a basic literacy level (0 to approximately 8th grade level).

Tutoring is one-on-one and volunteers meet with students in public places of their choice and at times that are convenient for them. Tutors may choose to tutor English language learners or adults who have basic literacy challenges. Tutors try to meet at least once a week and a one-year commitment is advised.
