Spearfish Wildlife Sanctuary

The Spearfish “Spirit of the Hills” Wildlife Sanctuary is looking for
volunteers to help with two projects this weekend. They are:

Project #1:
They need help cleaning up a building that was damaged during the
October 2013 winter storm. The roof collapsed in the October storm
and the metal and boards need to be taken to the sanctuary to re-use.
Date: Saturday, 31 May
Time: 0800-1500
Place: 501 Dakota Street, Piedmont, SD 57769
Volunteers needed: 3-5
*Please bring/wear safety-toe boots and glove. *No small children.

Project #2
Build the bear catch-up pen, build the aviary, lay cement under electric
fence around the bears, repair wooden fence at front gate that someone
drove their car thru, and reinforce some other wooden fence throughout the
sanctuary.
Date: Saturday, 31 May and Sunday, 1 June
Time: 0800-1500, both days
Place: 500 Tinton Road, Spearfish, SD 57783
Volunteers needed: 10-15
*Please bring/wear safety-toe boots and glove. *No small children.

Volunteers needed for 4-H Rodeo

Volunteers are needed for the Pennington County 4-H Rodeo! We need help in a few areas: Opening and closing gates, wrapping horns on roping steers, changing goats out for goat tying, and help in the concession stand.

The Rodeo is June 14 from 8:00-5:00ish in Wall, South Dakota at the Wall Rodeo Grounds. Volunteers do not need to stay the whole time and can rotate out throughout the day if needed. It’s preferred that volunteers be comfortable around livestock and horses if they want to work around the arenas but not if they are wanting to work in the concession stand. Run or Dye – YMCA Volunteer Opportunity

Call for VOLUNTEERS!

Live life in full color by helping volunteer on Saturday, June 7 for the Run or Dye 5K! Interested in working a water station, assisting in packet pick-up/registrations, or throwing color on the course? The YMCA needs you!!

Last year we had 150 volunteers help with this awesome event which raised over $13,360 for the YMCA.  All of this support was used to provide YMCA sponsored memberships for 163 children and teens from impoverished backgrounds in our community. This is opportunity is a great way to give back to the community and have a BLAST at the same time!!!!!

When:  Saturday, June 7 – 6:45 am to 11:30 pm to help with registrations, water stations and color stations.  Volunteer check-in is at 6:45.  We anticipate being done between 11:00 and 11:30.

2014.  They need help cleaning up a building that was damaged during the
October 2013 winter storm.  Please bring/wear safety-toe boots and gloves,
all other tools will be provided.

Meet time/place: 8:30 a.m. at the Valley Market gas station off the
interstate at Exit 46/Elk Creek.
