Neighborworks needs your help!

NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources and Black Hills Power are partnering up to help disabled and elderly homeowners weatherize their homes.  Our goal is to winterize five homes in Box Elder.  We are planning on doing this event on Saturday, October 12th. Interested in volunteering? Rapid City Rush and Children’s Miracle Network need your help!

The Rapid City Rush are hosting a BBQ  for season ticket holders on Sept. 29th 11am-2pm at the Memorial Park Band Shelter, a portion of the season tickets will benefit Children’s Miracle Network of Rapid City. They have asked us to have 5-10 volunteers help with setup and tear down and whatever else they might need . They would need to arrive by 11am and should be done by 2:30pm.

Black Hills Children’s Home visit

There will be a BHCH visit on September 20. This visit will be on a Friday night at 5 p.m., If anyone would like to volunteer to visit with the children please contact SSgt Ashley S. Provost @ 605-385-5887.

Attached is a list of things that are needed for dinner and birthday wishes. If you would like to donate any of those items, just let me know. I will need all items between 18th and the 19th of September. If you have any other questions, just let me know. Also, spread the word out to others you know, that probably don’t receive these emails, that may want to volunteer or donate. Have a great day!

Household Hazardous Waste Event 5 Oct 2013

City of Rapid City will be sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Event. This event gives the community an opportunity to dispose of items that cannot go into the landfill. These items include but are not limited to: Aerosols, oil based paints, concrete cleaners, drain cleaners, residential week killers and bug sprays, oven cleaners, etc.

The event will be held on Saturday October 5, 2013 from 8:00am – 3:00pm at the Central States Fair Grounds.

Workers will need to be there by 7:00am for assignments

We are looking for 30 volunteers or more to help with
Traffic control:
Guiding the resident to the proper line
Communicating with the waiting resident, letting them know how much further they have
Helping the resident unload their vehicle; Please bring some gloves if possible
Guiding the traffic out of the area
Answering questions or finding out the answer to questions

Lunch will be provided for the volunteers!

Sign ups are needed by September 23, 2013, each volunteer will receive a t-shirt.
