MIDNIGHT COWBOY RUN!

Northern Hills Alliance for Children in Deadwood needs volunteers to help with the June 20, Midnight Cowboy Run fundraiser.  The 5K run/walk weaves through Historic Deadwood at midnight.  Participants dress in glow attire and light-up accessories.  Volunteers are needed to coordinate runners and sell glow merchandise.  Volunteers are needed from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. June 20/21.

4TH OF JULY BOX ELDER BASH

The Box Elder Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help with their 4TH of July community event:  The Box Elder Bash.  (No uniforms necessary; just wear comfortable clothes.)  They are looking for volunteers to assist with:

  • Beer Garden
  • ID Checkers for Beer Garden
  • Ticket Takers

ELLSWORTH AFB HANGAR GAMES-GAMES IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

The AFRC on Ellsworth is working together with the Youth & Fitness Centers as well as the Black Hills Community to hold the FREE family fun event with a theme of  “Games in the Great Outdoors”.  There will be many activities which include:

  • Climbing Wall,
  • Putt-putt course
  • Geocaching Activities
  • 5K Fun Run
  • Kick Ball
  • Info Tables
  • Disk Golf
  • Pennington Co. 4-H Activities
  • And much more!

This event will take place on 13 June from 1-3 PM @ the Pride Hangar.  We will take volunteers at any time, but set-up will start @ Noon @ the Pride.  Come out and have some fun!

PIONEER HOUR VOLUNTEER-DEADWOOD, SD

Deadwood History seeks individuals to help with Pioneer Hour, a free event that will be held from 3-4p.m.  all summer long, at the Adams Museum and Days of ’76 Museum in Deadwood.  Events begin the week of May 26.  Volunteers will help with crafts, scavenger hunts and/or games depending on the day.  Volunteers need to work well with children and adults.

PACK SUMMER BACKPACKS

Feeding South Dakota in Rapid City needs volunteers to pack about 700 summer backpacks at 12:30 p.m. on the following dates:  May 26, June 2, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 21, July 28, August 4 and August 8.  Volunteers can pick a date that works best for them.  They do not need to commit to all dates.

SD STATE TRACK MEET VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to assist with the 2015 SD State Track and Field meet in Rapid City on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30.  Volunteers are needed in the following areas:  pass gate attendants, field event workers, T-Shirt sales and admissions gate assistants.  Shifts can be from 8:30a.m.-12:30p.m. and 12:30p.m.-5p.m.

BLACK HILLS NATIONAL CEMETARY NEEDS YOU

BHNC is looking for volunteers to assist with the Memorial Day Weekend.  The work done out there this time of year makes an impact on the families of those who wore the uniform before us.  There are more visitors to the Black Hills National Cemetery during the 3-day Memorial Day period then over the rest of the entire year.
