Talking Circle Volunteers Needed

Pennington County Jail needs volunteers to lead weekly Talking Circles  with inmates.  Volunteers will utilize Native American traditions and cultural values to assist inmates with reforming lives and strengthening their social bond with their heritage.

Black Hills Works Spring Fling

Black Hills Works seeks volunteers to help with its Person Centered Thinking Spring Fling from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Rapid City’s Main Street Square.  At least 15 volunteers are needed to attend to games and activities, hang out with persons served by Black Hills Works, help with set up and clean up, serve food and distribute water.

EAFB Hangar Games: Games in Our Great Outdoors 13 June from 1-3 P.M.

Want to volunteer in a fun environment?  Take this opportunity to get out of the dorm/house and expel some energy!  We will have many activities for our Ellsworth families at the June Hangar Games event such as:

  • 2 mile walk/run with the Fitness Center
  • Rapid City Parks & Rec will have activities planned
  • 4-H Fun
  • Disk Golf, Putt-Putt Golf
  • Geocaching activities
  • Climbing Wall
  • Kick Ball
  • Bouncing Castle
  • And More!

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS MENTORS NEEDED

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Black Hills seeks people willing to become a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple (married) or Big Family.  These programs are designated to match children between 5 and 15 years old, with an adult, couple or family that can serve as a positive role model, giving a child a chance to see their unlimited potential and providing the opportunity to develop into a more responsible, successful, well-rounded individual.

REACH TO RECOVERY VOLUNTEERS WANTED

The American Cancer Society seeks breast cancer survivors (one year post treatment) who are willing to volunteer their time in its Reach to Recovery program.  Volunteers will serve as mentors to other women facing a diagnosis of breast cancer.  The volunteer will guide the patient through every step of their breast cancer experience  and treatment.
