Volunteers are requested to provide 1 day/week Monday – Thursday from

1100-1500 for 8 weeks as well as a few training days.

Active Duty may volunteer with their Commander’s permission!

Dependents and Retirees with regular base access are also welcome to volunteer!

Festival of Lights- Parade Route and Crowd Control volunteers

The Festival of Lights organization is looking for volunteers to assist with the annual Festival of Lights parade Saturday, 27 Nov in downtown Rapid City. Please see below for additional information as well as contact information regarding this opportunity:

Duties and expectations:

  • Volunteers are needed to assist with securing the parade route and crowd control.
  • Volunteer Opportunity will be from 1600 to approximately 2030
  • The minimum age to volunteer for the Festival of Lights is 16 years old.
  • Dress in warm layers and be sure to include warm shoes, gloves, and a cap is recommended.
  • Bring a working flashlight and cell phone.
  • Wear assigned Festival of Lights orange vest which will be issued to the volunteer at the event.
  • If assigned a radio, maintain radio silence unless communication is required.
  • Stay at assigned post until released by Festival of Lights committee person.
  • Turn in assigned vest and radio directly to Festival of Lights committee person.
